The chicken front

The chickens are doing great! The cornish cross are almost 7 weeks old. Out of 15 cornish cross we have 3 roosters. It's been unusually cold here so my sons were putting them out in the tractor in the day and then bringing them back into the brooder at night.

That got a little cumbersome. They used a dolly and hauled them in a big computer box. It was cute to see them make due with the materials they had.

But we decided to let them take their chances out in the tractor all night and have been leaving them in it now, just moving their pen everyday, sometimes twice a day.

At night they are covered with a tarp to help sheild them from the wind and they put concrete blocks on top to weigh the tractor down. We do have coyotes here. We're not sure if they could get to them or not.

After the tractor is moved, there is ALOT of wonderful, organic fertilizer left behind.
